About Us
What we do

Our mission

IntellEstate exists to give estate planning professionals back their most valuable resource: time. We believe that when legal professionals spend less time on administrative friction, they can focus on what truly matters: guiding families through some of life’s most important decisions with care, expertise, and personal attention.

What we do

Our story

IntellEstate was born from a simple observation: estate planning attorneys were using the same disconnected, manual workflows their predecessors used decades ago, even as every other part of legal practice modernized. We saw firms juggling email attachments, Word documents, and physical filing systems, losing hours to tasks that technology should have solved long ago. So we set out to build the platform we wished existed: purpose-built for estate planning, designed by people who understand the work, and obsessively focused on the details that make a legal professional’s day easier.

Who we ARe

Our founding team

Rick Casson
CEO

Born and raised in Regina, Saskatchewan (where they and Talon first became friends), Rick moved to Saskatoon after high school to complete degrees in Computer Science and Mechanical Engineering, as well as a certificate in Professional Communication, from the University of Saskatchewan.

In their final years of school, Rick founded their first company with their father to design and build agricultural and construction technologies. The grain yield monitoring technology they developed formed the foundation of what would become FarmTRX, now used by thousands of farmers across the globe. Following graduation in 2018, they were invited to participate in the NEXT 36 in Toronto to further develop their entrepreneurial skills.

In the midst of isolation during the pandemic, Rick discovered a passion for backcountry hiking, which eventually led them to Revelstoke, BC in 2022. When not at the keyboard, Rick is also a private pilot, an ACMG Top Rope Climbing Instructor, an amateur adventure and endurance athlete, as well as an active volunteer and leader for several community groups based in Revelstoke.

Talon Regent
CLO

Talon graduated from the University of Regina with a Bachelor of Business Administration in 2013, with a major in Human Resources. In 2015, he graduated from the University of Saskatchewan with a Juris Doctor and moved to Moose Jaw before being called to the Bar in 2016.

Talon has experience at all levels of court in Saskatchewan, having run criminal trials in Provincial Court, resolving family disputes in Queen’s Bench, and litigating at the Court of Appeal on municipal and administrative law. He now focuses on Real Estate, Wills & Estates, and Corporate Law. In 2020, Talon was listed as one of Canada’s Top 25 Most Influential Lawyers by Canadian Law Magazine.

Outside the office, Talon is active in the community. He is Counsel of record for several charities and non-profit organizations. He also contributes his time and expertise by providing free legal services to low-income individuals as a volunteer with Pro Bono Law Saskatchewan. Socially minded and politically active, Talon is past President of the federal NDP‘s Sask Council of Electoral District Associations and sits on the NDP’s Federal Council.
